guidelines & essential policy

Side-event during the 51st session on theUN Human Rights Council
Tuesday 20 September 17:00 to 18:00 CEST
Palais des Nations, Room XXV

At the core of every discussion on abortion is a question of autonomy and control and this is particularly true of self management of abortion. Denial of bodily autonomy including autonomous decision making about pregnancy is a violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms. This conversation will address the key aspects of the safe abortion guidelines and discuss essential policy landscape and its implementation to ensure women’s and girl’s right to bodily autonomy.
