The ability of the international human rights system - and, in particular, the multilateral institutions tasked with advancing human rights for all - has long been questioned by feminist and social justice activists.
This conversation will bring together people working in varied multilateral spaces and analyse the similarities and differences of the way feminist and queer analysis needs to confront co option in the multilateral system. It will explore the spaces and their entry points, the sites of resistance and the potential for organising for systemic change.
Join us for this exciting conversation, organised in collaboration with the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID), the Global Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP) and Women Enabled International, which will interrogate where collective advocacy should be headed and the possibilities for feminist collective action and mobilisation.
Speakers:
- Jules Kim, Global Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP)
- Ayesha Omari, activist
- Ishani Cordeiro, Women Enabled International
- Bhumika Mucchala, Third World Network (TWN)
- Carrie Shelver, Sexual Rights Initiative (SRI)
Moderated by:
- Anissa Daboussi, Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID)
